Dave Bitter
In April of 2011, Dave was recruited by group of investment partners to form Intelifarms Holdings with the mission to develop or acquire intelligent systems designed to improve farm operating profitability and simplify government compliance.  One of the purchased technologies is the CropFax intelligent data system for hybrid seed selection where Dave oversees general business operations.  Prior to Intellifarms Dave served as the Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Consolidated Industries (PCI).  PCI is a Leading manufacturer of oxygen and nitrogen generation systems for the Military, Medical, and Oil & Gas markets.  Dave joined PCI as the Chief Financial Officer in October of 2004 and was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer in July of 2008. Prior to joining PCI, Dave was the Vice President of Finance at Black & Decker Corporation for two years where he was responsible for the financial oversight of a $1 billion business unit including Kwikset, Price Pfister, Baldwin and Weiser. James Hall
James Hall is the principle architect of the CropFax technology and with his son Jeff Hall, formed JHTech for the development of engineering solutions using their extensive, engineering, artificial intelligence and financial markets experience.  Jim continues to run JHTech and will continue to provide oversight to the technical development and support of the CropFax systems.  Prior to forming JHTech, Jim worked over 20 years for Deere and Company (NYSE DE) where he provided leadership in engineering, project management, corporate finance and business development. Jim holds eight patents on agricultural and lawn care solutions, has authored numerous book chapters and papers and was spotlighted in national magazines for his work on modeling financial markets with neural networks.  Most of Jim’s experience is in applying new technology to agriculture engineering applications.

Jim’s accomplishments include:

  • Developed first system for continuously measuring grain yield and making field yield maps.
  • Developed cylinder tine separator presently used in over half of the combines sold in the US.
  • Engineering lead for prototype of the John Deere Gator utility vehicle
  • Engineering lead for consumer grade composite body riding lawn mower.
  • Created self-learning neural network control to self-adjust grain harvester processes – eliminating the need for human adjustments during operation.
  • Created of a self-learning neural network for forecasting US equity markets.  This technology was applied to investment portfolios for several pension fund managers.
  • Recent projects for engineering solutions include the Cropfax seed performance analysis system and various other projects for financial, agricultural, chemical and petroleum companies.

Jim has earned both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering prior to working at Deere and Company.  While at Deere and Company Jim earned a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks from the University of Illinois.

Jeffrey Hall
Previous to the formation of JHTech, Jeff formed Handtool Software, a handheld software company delivering solutions for handheld devices.  The company was subsequently purchased by Data Transmission Network Corporation (DTN).

Jeff’s developments include:

  • Developed the global technology and business plan for integrating wireless networking and monitoring technology into John Deere vehicles.
  • Built proof of concept vehicles for John Deere utilizing wireless technology for sensor and customer data.
  • Prior to digital phone technology, developed analog cellular delivery system of weather, market and news information to growers.
  • Developed field scouting program for Bayer Scoutlink to capture grower field observations with linkage to GPS reference.  This product provided field scouting and grower record keeping while maintaining identity preservation.
  • Developed an online data collection system for grower field scouting and record keeping with a focus on identity preservation.
  • Jointly developed Solar Data Warehouse (SDW), the world’s largest database of hourly and daily solar radiation. The SDW capability has now expanded to include near real time monitoring and solar forecasting.

Jeff has an MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, specializing in wireless communication.
