Climate is the dominant factor in determining crop yields, and CropFax has the nation's largest* agri-climate database.  It contains daily information going back up to 30 years for over 5,000 US locations.  Along with traditional weather parameters like temperature, precipitation, humidity, and wind, we have key parameters for crop growth like solar radiation and soil temperature.

We provide long-term averages for frost dates, precipitation probabilities, and a multi-year trend for your local spring soil temeratures.  Combined, this information helps you estimate the maximum growing season you can reasonably expect in your area.

*We're the largest to the best of our knowledge.  Many companies have large databases but don't include all of the key agri-climate information that we do.  For example, nearly all other weather databases use sunlight (solar radiation) data that is modeled by a computer simulation while ours is scientifically measured and recorded.
